The Ruby Dress Free Pattern has a fitted, lined bodice and a circle skirt. Check both the “Body Measurements” and “Finished Garment Measurements” tables to find your best fit.

This pattern includes ladies’ sizes from 0 to 20, and each size comes in A, B, C, D and DD cups.

Materials

Main Fabric: The Ruby Dress is very versatile. You can dress up or down depending on the fabric that you use. Your fabric options for this dress are unlimited. I suggest light to medium weight fabrics (they can have some stretch).

Some examples are crepe, cotton, rayon, twill, linen, cotton/linen blends, denim or even suiting fabrics. Consider when you plan on wearing your dress while you choose your fabric. If you are going to use it in a warm weather, stick with natural fibers!

54” wide fabrics are preferrable. The use 45” wide fabrics is possible, but you’ll need to cut the circle skirt in panels. I was able to cut a size 2 with a 17” length for my daughter using 45” wide fabric.

Lining: I suggest light weight cotton fabrics such as voile or lawn. Another option is bemberg, this one is slippery and a bit harder to work with.

Interfacing: Light weight woven interfacing such as Pellon SF101

Zipper: 24″ invisible zipper or metal or nylon zipper. You can use #3 or #5 Zippers by the Yard with locking pulls.
