Short Strapless Dress
A short strapless dress is the perfect homecoming dress! Your options are unlimited with this pattern. You can change the look from casual to formal and if you lengthen the skirt you can also sew a gown with it. To add fullness to the skirt you can use tulle.
Full skirts in these dresses are usually made with 4-6 layers. You can use satin for the first layer and on top of that 3-4 layers of tulle. You can also use lace fabric in one of the layers.

You can’t go wrong with a simple Flare Dress. The shape of this dress is very simple. For fun, add pockets as in this picture! To sew a dress like this one, you can use the Ruby Dress Pattern or this M Sewing Pattern. The Russian website Porivian also has a pattern for a similar dress with pleated skirt. Solid or printed fabrics are suitable for a dress like this one. I love this blush colored dress for a homecoming dress.

Peep Hole Dress
I love this dress that I found in Pinterest, It is so youthful and I think is perfect for a homecoming. It has a high neck with a peep hoke and the back in in lace. I love the lace in the back! You can make a dress like this one with this pattern from m-sewing. Shorten the length and use lace fabric in the back. For a similar look, accentuate your waist with a nice belt. This example is black, but for my daughter I would sew it in red or blue.

Lace Mini Dress
This lovely lace mini dress is perfect for a homecoming. You can use this pattern also from m-sewing to sew a similar dress. You can use stretch satin or solid fabrics, or to copy this look use stretch lace over a contrasting lining. This dress also has some transparent details that shouldn’t be difficult to add.
