The Drapey Knit Dress is a Free sewing pattern from the Great British Sewing Bee. It’s a really interesting looking pattern; a dress with a slight tulip shape that comes in towards the knees. It is inspired by contemporary Japanese cutting styles and is designed to flatter all figures. It is made up of three main body pieces: kimono sleeves, hidden pockets, and a stylish front pleat at the top from the neckline.
The dress is desinged for Ponte Roma Fabric, which is a stable knit. This is a great dress for transitional seasons, as it works well with tights and boots.
The FREE Pattern was published in the Love Sewing Magazine
I wouldn’t like this dress as much if it wasn’t for this version from Sew Different!
I hope you like this lovely design!
Below are some classes to get you started with knits. I took the class Sewing Fashion Knits Sewing Course by Linda Lee and I highly recommend it.
